Yesterday, the world of cinema suffered a profound and appalling loss with the death of brilliant moviemaker Philip Seymour Hoffman. To commemorate the passing of this modern screen titan, we’re revisiting two interviews with Hoffman that appeared in MovieMaker’s pages in 2003 and 2010, along with an introductory note by Dante A. Ciampaglia (who conducted the 2010 interview with Hoffman and his co-star Amy Ryan). In them, as always, he proves himself to be consummately professional, relentlessly honest and very human.
