The Independent Film Festival held in the spring every year in Boston is the biggest and, by most accounts, most cherished festival held in the Hub. IFFBoston operates with the same twin charms its hometown operates with: history and camaraderie. Held in the historic Somerville, Brattle, and Coolidge Corner Theatres, IFFBoston culls a selection of the highest-buzz top-tier festival contenders together with quality features and shorts that may have flown under the radar at marathon festivals like SXSW or Sundance. “Everyone always hung out at the Sommerville theatre,” one of our panelists remembered, and “it kind of felt like a high school reunion… but the good kind.”
